Life can be strange at times

On my way home today, I passed a couple of people who were walking a duck down the street. It was an adult male mallard, who waddled along on a leash in front of the two people as calm as anything. I had no idea that ducks could be domesticated like that!

I knew there were domestic farm ducks, but not ones people kept as pets. And I'd no idea you could do that with mallards, as opposed to breeds specially bred to be domestic.

Ah, the farm ducks thing makes sense. Seeing the mallard was a bit surreal...I suppose it could have been for a project or a prank of some sort, though how they got the duck to come quietly is beyond me.
